Route Serotonin… Highway 66 is a euphoric ride with finely tuned US and Dutch genetics behind the wheel. It’s a potent performer, with THC levels of 25%+, offering much for the palate of connoisseurs seeking new adventures in aroma and flavor.

In the Paradise Seeds breeding tradition in recent years, Highway 66 is an upgrade on an L.A. Amnesia, a sativa which has been wowing growers since it was released as part of the Tommy Chong’s Collection a few years ago. The grower can expect to benefit from production stability with enhanced terpene and cannabinoid profiles.

Lineage

Highway 66 is a hybrid cannabis cross using a selected L.A. Amnesia and Gelato 33. The mother is the genetic provider of one of Paradise’s most popular sativas in recent years: L.A. Amnesia, which has been consistently popular with growers since it was released as part of the Tommy Chong’s Collection in 2017.

The other parent is a selected Gelato 33 pheno, chosen to provide extra layers of potency and depth of flavor.

Aromas and Flavours

Highway 66 is characterized by an exceptionally high Terpinolene profile alongside Limonene, Trans-ocimene and Alpha Humulene. In the grow space the smell is a fruity haze, discreetly pleasant and not the kind of stinker to alert the building of its presence!

Once dried, buds emanate a pleasant floral fruitiness. It has an underlying Hazey taste on the inhale with smooth and delicate top notes of floral perfume and a lemony sweetness that hangs around on the tongue.  and a hint of apples, attributed to the high percentage of Terpinolene.

Cultivation

Difficulty level: Easy

Indoors: The Highway 66 cannabis strain exhibits a typical hybrid growth pattern. While it is an easy management plant, its sativa genes mean that it needs a bit of careful handling if operating in a small grow space. As such, limiting the vegetative stage to 2 – 3 weeks will prevent it from stretching too much in flower. Pruning is suggested in veg, topping the plant to open out its growth structure.

Outdoors: Left to run its course, this plant can easily exceed 2m in height in warmer, sunnier regions. Its adaptability will make Highway 66 popular with outdoor growers with excellent resilience across a range of environmental conditions (from heat to humidity). A tip for humid conditions is to remove larger leaves at the mid flower stage to increase air circulation.

*As with all exotic strains, the flipside of more potency and flavor is that plants can be more susceptible to hermaphroditism when stressed. For this reason keep a close eye for pollen sacks on lower branches and use the above lollipop technique to stop any issue developing.

Yield and Presentation

Despite the sativa background, this plant takes on a hybrid structure which more resembles a classic indica in its compactness. An active producer, she’s a resinous plant, producing big buds which stand out for their thickness and density, presented in a chunky form that is more pyramid like in shape.

Growers can expect two phenotypes, one a resinous plant with pink tinged flowers and accentuated lemon flavors, while the other has an extra smoothness and intensity to its sweetness.

Indoor Yield: 550g per m²
